Mary Shumate : Southeastern Land Group

Mary Shumate brings a unique blend of compassion, agricultural experience, and local market knowledge to her role with Southeastern Land Group. Rooted in faith, family, and a deep connection to agriculture, Mary and her husband Josh are longtime residents of North Alabama who have built their lives around the farming community while raising their two children and operating a successful poultry farm. Before transitioning into real estate, Mary spent over two decades working as an occupational therapist serving children with special needs. Her background in therapy developed strong communication and problem-solving skills, allowing her to guide clients through important decisions with patience, care, and attention to detail. Mary also brings more than 20 years of firsthand experience in agriculture, land stewardship, and farm life. As an active member of the poultry and farming community, she understands the opportunities and challenges that come with owning and operating rural property. Her interest in real estate grew while designing and building her own family’s home, where she discovered a passion for helping others find the right property to build their lives and futures. As part of Southeastern Land Group, Mary works with clients throughout North Alabama and the greater Southeast, assisting buyers and sellers with poultry farms, farmland, rural homes, and acreage properties.
